The Convention and Association Bureau of visit.brussels is teaming up with ICCA as Association Relations Partner (ARP), to further promote Brussels’ position as the world’s leading international associations destination, and develop the European Association Summit.
Setting up an Associations Relations Partnership between visit.brussels and ICCA is a win-win for reaching out to the international associations’ community, thanks to the essential networking role of Brussels as the capital of the European Union and the expertise both organisations bring to the table for, among others, association executives and meeting planners.
Elisabeth Van Ingelgem, Director of visit.brussels’ Convention and Association Bureau confirms: “Associations have played an important part over the last few decades in shaping the international character of Brussels. Thanks to the presence of their headquarters, staff activity and meetings organisation, they created a unique ecosystem, to which we are proud to contribute with our own activities and, in particular, with the European Association Summit. Having ICCA partnering with us is a recognition of the maturity of this event and a good sign for future editions, as well as excellent visibility of our work for associations”.
The launch of this cooperation comes at a time when an increasing number of association events are being organised in Brussels, the Ambassadors programme is taking off, and we celebrate the second anniversary of the creation of the Association Bureau.
Recognising the specific situation of the international associations environment the Association Bureau offers specific services to all associations wishing to develop or setup their activities in Brussels. It also organises the European Association Summit (EAS) and collaborates on various initiatives that aim to give rise to even stronger association community growth in the capital of 500 million Europeans.
The partnership encompasses advice on the design of the European Association Summit and the event’s programme enhancement, with ICCA providing sessions and speakers. Attendance of the EAS continues to grow every year, as does the diversity of international associations’ attendees and the variety of the content.
The 7th edition of the European Association Summit will take place at the Square in Brussels from 28 February to 1 March 2019.
