Education Session

Title: How DMOs and CVBs are the key to creating event legacy

Session description: Host destination representatives know their cities and regions best. So, when it comes to making sure your event leaves a legacy in their local community beyond hotel room occupancy, the Destination Marketing Organisations (DMOs) and Convention Bureaus (CVBs) sitting on your local host committee are the right people to ask for help about where your delegates can make the biggest impact.

Aimed at event planners who want to know more about the role of DMOs and CVBs in the event planning process and the support they can offer when it comes to legacy (and more), and offering perspectives from suppliers and associations, this session will use case studies from ICCA Members VisitScotland and Glasgow Convention Bureau to explore how a strong partnership between planners, DMOs and CVBs can help an event flourish and leave a real, tangible legacy.

Moderator: Elif Balci Fisunoglu, ICCA Regional Director (Europe)

Aileen Crawford, Head of Conventions, Glasgow Convention Bureau
Patrick Lamont, Business Events Executive - Associations and Sectors, VisitScotland

Date & Time: 27 June at 13:50-14:50
